  • The ancient Elea-Velia was built around 540 BC thanks to the exiles from the Greek city of Phocaea, in Turkey in 88 BC became a Roman municipality. The city occupies an area of about 90 hectares and was organized by neighborhoods connected by roads, crossings, ports.
